Cancelled: Climate change adaptation Roundtable

Brussels, Belgium

16 March 2020

Rue de Namur 59
1000 Brussels

NOTICE: Due to the virus COVID-19 situation and the measures taken by the Belgian state this event is cancelled. We will come back to you soon with a new date

In addition to climate mitigation, climate adaptation measures have become increasingly important when addressing the impacts of climate change. Although these measures are now well-known, as climate adaptation plans are developed at local, regional and national levels, a gap remains between vision, planning, and implementation.

This is particularly the case in cross-border regions.

In an effort to enhance stakeholders’ knowledge of the implementation barriers linked to climate adaptation solutions, ESPON is organizing a roundtable dedicated to climate change adaptation, on 16 March 2020 in Brussels.

Discussions during this half-day event will specifically cover the urban heat island effect, droughts, and water/erosion in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxemburg, North-Rein Westphalia, and Hauts-de-France.

This is an invitation-only event.

Target groups of the event: The event is geared towards (inter)national, subnational and local policy-makers deciding on territorial/regional sustainable development strategies, planning, and governance in SDG, city networks, inter-municipal and inter-regional associations, INGOs, and academics in sustainable development and climate change.
